Mayra Suazo-Aquino joined R&R Legal as Senior Associate in the spring of 2023. Prior to joining the firm, she was an Associate at Fredson, Statmore, Bitterman, in Bloomfield, NJ, and Starr, Gern, Davison & Rubin, P.C., in Roseland, NJ, full-service law firms specializing in all areas of plaintiff's personal injury litigation. She has vast experience with several types of civil litigation matters including personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death claims, breach of contract claims, and real estate closings. She has successfully managed all cases from initial intake through different phases of discovery, arbitration/mediation, trials, and appeals. She also prides herself on excellent settlement negotiations and client relations through effective communication, thorough case review and presentation.
Having grown up in the North Ward sector of Newark, NJ, Mayra has become committed to community service and has actively engaged with various organizations and initiatives that serve the Hispanic community, as well as the Forest Hill District. Through volunteer work, outreach programs, and cultural events, she has fostered strong ties with this vibrant and diverse community. She continues to seek opportunities to make a positive impact and promote inclusivity and cultural awareness within our diverse society. Presently, Mayra remains actively engaged in multiple bar associations throughout New Jersey, including co-chairing events, volunteering at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and Toni's Kitchen.
Mayra attended Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where she graduated with honors (cum laude), and received a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and English. She then went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from Touro Law. She is currently admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and the U.S. District Court District of New Jersey. Mayra is fluent in Spanish.
